Each recreational vehicle or camper therefore has a fresh water and a waste water tank . The fresh water tank is usually placed indoors, under the seating area. This way the water freezes less quickly. The tank can be easily refilled via a hatch on the outside of the motorhome. The waste water tank is located at the bottom of the motorhome, ideal for emptying in the designated places. It is recommended not to drink water from your fresh water tank as standing water spoils. Also, the tap water is not drinkable in all countries.

If you are not going to use the motorhome for a while, you must empty both the fresh water and waste water tanks . This way you avoid bacteria in the tanks and protect them against freezing temperatures in winter . To empty the water tanks, watch the videos below and follow the given procedure . This way your tanks remain in optimal condition. Clean the water tanks and water pipes at least once a year. For this you use a soda solution. Rinse again with a bleach solution. For 10 liters of water, use 10 centilitres of bleach. Afterwards you let the fresh water run through one last time so that all remnants of the solution are gone. If the temperature inside the motor home is below +3 ° C , the Truma Frost control will ensure that the water automatically runs out of the boiler. This safety system prevents you from getting a faulty boiler through frozen water. Attention! This does not automatically drain the pipes, unless all taps inside the motor home are open so that the air can pass through. FYI: Only at more than 7 ° C can the Frost control be closed again.
